Welcome to Skilled and Sassy! This is a blog about all things crafty, run by a sassy mom and her two equally sassy daughters. Each of us have our own skill sets and work with vinyl, paper products, wood working projects, sewing, baking, crocheting, and many more medias. We’re just a group of ladies that want to share our tips and tricks that we’ve found to make our projects easier while helping understand step by step instructions! We’ve all talked about starting a blog, so we figured why not do it together. We can’t wait to get to know all of you, so here’s a little bit of information about each of us!
Hi! I’m Tammy, the “crafter” of our “a crafter, a baker, and a diy maker” trio. My husband Steve and I have been married for 33 years and we have the two daughters that created this blog with me! I was a school teacher for 18 years before changing careers at 41 years old to work at a software company and manage grown ups rather than ten year olds. Christmas of 2018 my family gifted me the first tool that started my crafting frenzy… a Silhouette Cameo machine. I found my passion for crafting after learning this machine and figuring out the numerous things that I can do with it! Since then I’ve turned a bedroom in our house into the best craft room you’ve ever seen and I cant wait to walk y’all through some of the fun tasks I’ve created. In 2019, both of my daughters got married, and we did a LOT of DIY projects for the rehearsals, ceremonies, and receptions. Since then, we have been working together more and more to come up with new and fun ways to add crafty things to our daily lives.
Hey y’all! It’s Presley, the “DIY maker” of the group. My husband, Joseph, and I have two kiddos- Wyatt and AvaJames, and a fur baby- a chocolate lab named Dixie. I graduated from LSU with a degree in Chemical Engineering which started my drive to work with my hands and create. I love big woodworking projects and refinishing of furniture. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to update my coffee table, so I started there and haven’t stopped since. My husband taught me to use power tools and I’m now a force to be reckoned with!
Hey guys! My name is McKenna, “the baker” of the trio. My husband, Avery, and I have an African Sulcata tortoise named Rockefeller (aka Rocky) which will probably outlive us all! I have a degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism from Northwestern State and a Masters in Business Administration from ULL. I have worked in many different bakeries across the country and have loved being able to be creative in the kitchen while also providing sweet treats for friends and family. I am also an avid crocheter, a skill I learned from my Mamaw when I was very young. I picked up crocheting in college again when I decided to create a blanket for my boyfriend, now husband, for Christmas. It was a huge task to take on but I haven’t been able to put the hook down since.
